Work experience – Patent Attorney

Join Schlich Ltd for a three-day work experience programme taking place at their offices in Littlehampton, West Sussex. The work experience will run on 28-30th July 2026, from 9am to 5pm daily.

This three-day work experience programme is designed to give students who have completed, or are currently enrolled on a STEM degree, a unique insight into what it means to work as a patent attorney.

During the three-day event, students will hear from attorneys and support staff alike, across various stages of their careers, about the day-to-day job of a patent attorney. The event will include presentations, interactive sessions and shadowing and will give a comprehensive insight into the day to day life of an IP professional.

Who?

University students who are currently enrolled on a STEM (science/technology/engineering/maths) degree, or graduates with a STEM degree, who are interested in a career as a patent attorney.

Applicants must live (or have a place or residence) within 30 miles of Schlich’s office in Littlehampton.

Places will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis unless the first applicants do not meet the criteria.
