SUMMARY:Work Experience – Patent Attorney
DESCRIPTION:What?\nJoin Script Intellectual Property for a three-day work experience scheme taking place at their offices in Eastleigh, Southampton. The work experience will run on 18-20th August 2026, from 10am to 4pm daily.\nThe programme is designed to give participants an insight into life as a patent attorney. Across the three days, participants will take part in a range of subject-specific activities to provide insight into the day to day work of a patent attorney. The work experience also includes an engaging claims drafting workshop, where participants will explore what patent claims are, and have an opportunity to draft their own claims.\nThere will also be a CV and cover letter workshop to provide insight into what employers may be looking for in applications, with the aim of helping participants feel more confident when applying for future trainee patent attorney roles.\nThroughout the scheme, the aim is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can ask questions, develop new skills, and get a genuine insight into what a career as a patent attorney involves.\n \nWho?\nThe work experience is aimed at candidates that meet the following criteria:\n– Interest in becoming a Patent Attorney;\n– 18 years old or over; and\n– has (or is studying towards) an undergraduate degree in science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM)*.\n*Note, that to meet the requirements to become a European Patent Attorney, over 80% of the course hours for your undergraduate degree must be related to a STEM subject such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry, construction technology, electricity, electronics, information technology, mathematics, mechanics, medicine, pharmacology, physics or engineering.\nWe welcome applications from everyone, including applications from minority groups, individuals who are considering a career change, or students who are attending/have attended a non-Russell group university.\n \nHow to sign-up / apply\nPlease register via this link: https://www.testportal.com/test.html?t=s9d8VdsxvMgC\nPlease read all information on the start page before continuing with your registration.\nPlease do not register more than once.
